Not sure if someone can assist me with this but I am looking at installing electric horse fence and I have never done this before. I am planning on installing a solar charger but can anyone tell me about grounding rods? Where can I buy them if they are a special piece? We have two very different size horses, three standard size ranging in size from 15 hands to 17 hands and one miniature. Will we need to install multiple lines to make sure that all horses are effectively kept in by the fence?
Optional Information: Pet's Sex: Male Already Tried: The horses are currently held in by galvanized wire fence but they keep breaking the lines. Planning to install electric fence but have never done it before so any and all advice is welcome

Hello! Thanks for using Just Answer! That is a valid concern, the answer is that
depends on the length of fence the box can service. typically the broad tape is used with solar units, and yes you will need to have enough coverage for the mini and the 17 hand horse to be safely contained. Determine the length of the sides of your enclosure and the number of "rails" you want. Then refer to the directions to be sure the length of continuous line can be electrified by one box. You will want to keep the line as continuous as possible. One grounding rod will serve the box, and can be purchased at most feed stores that sell fence materials, or a home improvement store. Remember you will need to train your horses for the fence to be a safe enclosure for them. Good luck and please let me know if you have any more questions! Best regards, Susie L, MS
