Customer Question

Hello

It seems that our horse is vomiting? Mucus is coming out of mouth and nose.
I don't think she is very sick, but she isn't well. I think she ate something.
She (Mia the horse) is not laying down, which is what she does when she is
sick. So, what do we do?

Thank you in advance!!!!!

Lemetric

Optional Information:
Pet's Gender: Female
Type of Animal: horse
Name of Animal: Mia

Already Tried:
I tried walking, but she doesn't want to walk, so I just checked her water and started rubbing her. I noticed she didn't lay down, so I feel good that she isn't real sick. Thank you

Hello! Thanks for using Just Answer!

It seems as though your horse may have "choke", this is a very serious condition and you must call your vet immediately. Keep her head elevated and seek veterinary care right away. If it is not choke, there is clearly a respiratory distress condition present and this will also require veterinary care. Good luck and I hope for the best for your horse!

Best Regards,

Susie L, MS
