My 20 year old 1/2 Arabian has developed a tennis ball sized

Customer Question

Hi. My 20 year old 1/2 Arabian has developed a tennis ball sized mass right between the space where his neck meets his check, above his breastbone. My vet suggested that I leave it alone as aspiration/biopsy could aggravate it. It is a concern to me but does not affect him, as he eats well and does not have a fever or seem off in any other way. I feel it is getting slowly larger, but that could just be my nerves. Any suggestions as to what it could be?

Hbumped or injuredello,

My name is ***** ***** I have been a Vet tech for 30+ years and a horse owner over 40+ years.

How long has the mass been there?

Does it feel solid or squishy?

Could the horse have have injured himself in the stall or been kicked?

Joan
