Hello. My name is ***** ***** I will be helping you today.
Have you checked the vacuum with a manual gauge?
manifold vacuum is 18 in long term fuel trim both banks -14.8 stft-10.1 both banks
When you smoked it was the purge solenoid working properly?
sorry i will resmoke it and remove the lower hose and check for leakage is this what you mean? the purge is attached to intake manifold with upper and lower hose attached to it .
You need to see if its sticking open. Fill it with smoke with the purge solenoid commanded closed and make sure the smoke doesnt go through.
purge sol opens and closed on command no leakage
OK. Then check the PCV valve and make sure it isnt stuck open.
karvy help me out here does this vehicle have a pcv valve or is it a calibrated vacuum leak and if it does where is it thanks Mike
It doesnt sound like a vacuum leak and I wouldnt ask you to check a part that doesnt exist.
ok so where do i go
I am attaching a diagram of where the PCV valve is located. Fill the valve cover with smoke and take the hose off and see if its coming through.
haven't received the diagram yet you do know that this a 3.5 v6
Yes. Sorry here is the attachment. Im not sure what happened there.
removing the vent hose on the valve cover adding smoke to the port where would i expect to see smoke if the valve was stuck open or should i remove it to check it thanks
You add smoke through the oil filler cap hole. See if the smoke is coming out of the PCV valve.
