power steering & alternator belt broke engine die off, I replaced belts but no start ,it cranks
JA: How old is the battery? How many miles are on the car?
Customer: 94.000 miles 2 year old battery ,I already took battery to napa says its good
JA: What is the make/model of your car?
Customer: 2004 Honda odyssey
JA: Are you fixing your Odyssey yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: yes I replaced belts & put in new starter
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: while driving battery lite came on and open doors indicator came on then just died

How far was it driven after the belt broke?

Since the engine cranks, why was the starter replaced? Did you mean it will not crank?

about 2 blocks and some one told me it was starter but did not make a diff. they thought was slow

Did you check to see if the broken belt damaged any sensors or wiring?

So we need to start with the basics those include checking ignition spark and injector pulse. Can you check to see if those are occurring? next is to see if the fuel pressure is good, it would be odd for a belt failure to cause this but if spark and injector pulse are occurring then this is the next step. in the event that too is good then checking compression is next.
