My 2006 Honda Odyssey won't turn over when starting. I think

Customer Question

My 2006 Honda Odyssey won't turn over when starting. I think the anti theft system is preventing from starting. The radio doesn't come on but rest of dash lights are working
JA: Have you checked the fuses? The dashboard bulbs?
Customer: Yes look fine. Now the alarm is going off when I try to start
JA: Are you fixing your Odyssey yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: I think it's locked in anti theft mode
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: It has a remote start system and I think it's locked

Hi Im David, thanks for visiting the site. allow me a moment to get the reset procedure for you. thanks

Expert:  david craig replied 1 month ago.

try this

  • Insert the ignition key in the driver-side door lock.

  • Turn the key to the unlock position.

  • Turn the key to the lock position.

  • Turn the key back to the unlock position. The alarm should now be disabled.

  • Start your Hondas engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the honda to reset the alarm. When you're done, you can shut off the honda and arm the system as usual.
