Loud sound when in reverse, 2011 Honda Civic Coupe, Trying

Customer Question

loud sound when in reverse
JA: What is the model/year of your Honda?
Customer: 2011 Honda Civic Coupe
JA: Are you fixing your Civic yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Trying to get an idea of what it may be. It is under 34000 miles but thought it may be time for a tune-up.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nothing I can think of right now

HI,

Ok, first, can you describe the sound - grinding, whinning, screeching?

Second, does it sound like it is coming from the rear of the car, the front end, the engine/transmission compartment?

Third, does it make the sound as soon as you put it in gear, only while moving, etc?

Fourth, does it affect how it drives in reverse?

Finally, automatic or manual transmission?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Automatic 4 valve engine, it shakes a bit when put in reverse and is just loud. It does not affect the drive at all. Sounds like it is coming from the front, when I put in drive quiet.

HI,

Loud can mean alot of things - It would really help for a noise description - grinding, whinning, exhaust noise, screeching.

Does the whole car shake, where you feel it in the seat, or just the front end where the engine and transmission are?
