Sometimes with my 2009 Honda Civic idling and with my foot

Customer Question

Sometimes with my 2009 Honda Civic idling and with my foot on brake pedal the transmission cannot be shifted out of PARK. Eventually wiggling the shift lever for a while moves it out of PARK. Has been happening more frequently.
JA: Do you have brake lights? Have any trouble codes popped up?
Customer: no brake light or codes
JA: Are you fixing your Civic yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: no
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: no

It sounds like the shift lock solenoid is sticking intermittently. There are some tests that can be done on it, when it's not releasing. The console has to come out to get to it.
