Hello Welcome to just answer I am master tech and will be able to assist you today

can you tell me the specs you set the lash at ?

also can you isolate this to one bank or area ?

Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 27 days ago.

also how many miles on the car now ?

Customer: replied 27 days ago.

115606 miles , and lash was .22mm int .30mm exh cold

, i can´t isolate this noise , but it seem more in bank 1 , in fact heard a lot at top of intake maniful , i remove cover and block the baffle , and noise still the same

Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 27 days ago.

ok we did have some that had non hardened lifters.

so to confirm this you will need to set the valve lash to zero on the affected bank.

the car will run rough but if the noise goes away then replace the rocker arms

Customer: replied 27 days ago.

ok i will do that test monday a i will let you know results ,,, thanks

Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 27 days ago.

sounds like a plan

I hated doing them cause it's a lot of work to take it apart and then zero the lash and then put back together and then tear it down again .

Customer: replied 27 days ago.

but if necessary then I do, I need to know what the problem is, because I will come out more expensive, disassemble the engine and not find the problem

Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 25 days ago.

if the noise goes away then the rocker arms need to be replaced.

Customer: replied 23 days ago.

still same noise , but when it´s cold almost dont hear it , in hot its very loud ,,,also i activate manually ( put hot wire ) vtec solenoid at idle , and car does´nt fail or any rpm change , so i remove vtec sol and chk in bench and works fine ...looks like it have hidraulic lifters making noise

Expert:  MASTER TECH replied 22 days ago.

we did also have some cams not get treated and had premature wear.

by chance did you get a look at the cam lobes ?

these motors don't have hydraulic lifters only the rocker arms like a conventional engine.
