Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Expert:  Ron replied 2 months ago.

Okay is this an automatic system (buttons) or manual (knobs) ?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
RonI don't think you know Honda's well enough to help mehave a nice day I would have been better off putting this money on a Chilton's manual
Expert:  Ron replied 2 months ago.

I have a 2006 Honda Civic CX with a 1.8 and the A/C clutch stay engaged/on all the time no matter what I have the controls on it has burnt up the last comp. the only time/way I can shut disengage the clutch is by removing the clutch relay on under the hood//from what I found by reading is the neutral side of the relay coil is controlled by the PCM //// I have found that the negative side on the relay plug has continuity to the frame all the time even when the wiring has been pulled from the PCM I am looking to find out where the wire goes from the relay/fuse box to where?
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

Hi Im David. you're going to need to check some wiring. specifically for shorts to ground. do you know how to read a witing print?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
that is what I have been trying to get
a wiring diagram and wiring color codes
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
can you provide that type of information
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

yes, i gave you a print already. i will send you more

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

heres a couple more

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
thank you
do have anything on the PCM pin location and wiring color
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

let me check ...see what i can come up with. you want a whole pcm pinout?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
do you see any reason why I would be getting the negative side of the clutch coil relay showing continuity to the frame
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
no I am thinking just the plug that deals with the A/C or clutch relay
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

are you talking about the red wire for the clutch relay showing continuity to frame?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
the reason the for the pin info ad color wiring is because everything I had found and the information you have sent doent match the wire I am founding to have a short
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

pin out. let me check my manual and make sure i have the correct year for the other prints

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I can't found for sure what color of wire but working from the plug that the relay under the hood plugs into there is a hot side all the time the key is on and a control side// negative run from the PCM and that side show it is shorted to ground
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
even the color wire going to the compressor they are 3 blue wires
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

here is the correct ones..sorry my manuals were out of order.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
thank you
do you feel you can get me a PCM pin ID and Color for that one going to the AC
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

ill give her a shot

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

connector A pin 17 black/red wire

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

if thats not correct check connector A pin 14 red wire....

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I am not sure what one is A
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

and to make sure do a continuity check between the relay and either or postion

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

oh ok... ill get you a pic

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
from some reason I am showing a short on a green wire with a dark color tracer
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

from left to right a b c

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

where?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
it looks like I am working with the "C" one
the wire I find to be shorted is on the lower row of "c" light green with a dark or maybe a black tracer
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

i could have it backwards let me see if i can find another reference

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

how many slots over on the bottom row form the left?

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

one more

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
thank you
I just pulled the back off the relay/fuse box from under the hood
the wire going to the control side of the relay is purple with a gray tracer
none of the wires going the that relay are red of any color
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
it looks like the # 3 on the relay is the one that should be controlled by the PCM and should not be grounded to the frame
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
do you see any reason why Honda would have this wire grounded or am I correct in thinking this is my shorted wire and that is why the clutch is one the whole time
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

purple with a grey tracer? let me do some digging. did you do a continuity check on that wire to the pcm?

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

the only purple wire i see is going to the coil

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

are you positive you have the correct relay?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
it is the one I pulled and the clutch turned off
I am checking for the short with the relay pulled and the PCM removed/disconnected
do you have a picture showing the layout of the relays under the hood I want to be on the right for sure (I also pulled a relay from a different spot to see if changing the relay would fix it but no luck only when the relay was remove did the clutch cut off)
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

give me a few...thanks

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

here ya go

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
that's the one I have been working with
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

so what are the color of your wires on the compressor clutch relay?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
purple/ gray- blue with a gray tracer- orange w/ gray and lite blue w/gray
these are the ones I pulled from the back of the relay
I ohm out just to make sure I was pulling off the right Molex plug
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

ok. ill look into that

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
if you send me an email I can send he picture as an attachment
***@******.***
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

you can attach it to here too

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I was able to jump the relay contacts to bring the comp on and off and when I did put the relay on you feel it click and it was also warm
this is been on the internet a lot
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

i wonder why those frickin wires for the compressor clutch relay are different from my resources...

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I don't understand either
because everything I could come up with said the same thing your info said but I have no wires going to that relay that is even close to being red
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
did you get the picture I sent to your phone
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

thats not my phone. thats the companys relay number

(###) ###-####/p>
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

ok, that picture is of what connector?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
going to the back of the relay
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

the relay plugs into that?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

and its the compressor clutch relay...

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I'm not sure how do I find out for sure
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Canada
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

maybe thats the difference

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

still trying to find out if the canadian models wiring is different

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Thanks for all that you are trying
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

you bet

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Hi David,I know are trying to get the right color coding for the Honda
but can you confirm that we shouldn't be getting a short to ground on the wire from the clutch relay coil side going back to the PCM and that is with all the wiring to the PCM
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

i cant confirm anything. the more i look at that wire,,,does it read short to ground with the pcm connector disconnected?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Disconcerted from the PCM and from the fuses /Relay box
But since I don't know where the wire goes through out the car so not sure if I am miss reading the wiring diagram and maybe there is a point where it should be grounded to the frame
Everyone's telling me the neutral ground for that circuit is the control circuit which should be controlled by the power control module via the HVAC controller
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
ok now I know not crazy
Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

that wire should not go to anything along the way

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

any further news?

Expert:  david craig replied 2 months ago.

checking in to see how its going
