Customer Question

My 2000 CR-v started smoking lightly under the hood while driving. The oil was very low, so I filled it, which caused the smoking to worsen. When I stopped and lifted the hood, it looked as tho oil had been spewed out near the front of the engine. Did I overfill it? Or is there a bigger issue? What should I do?

It sounds like there is an oil leak and it is burning off of the engine. You will want to make sure that it's full and clean the oil off then run the engine to see what area it is coming out of, thanks.

Do you see any oil accumulating on the lower cranshaft pulley?
