2007 Honda Civic will not crank, show turned on, click, do

Customer Question

2007 Honda Civic will not crank, show turned on, click, do nothing! Like it's not receiving fire when key turned to the ON position
JA: Can you turn the steering wheel at all? And what about the key? Is it worn or damaged?
Customer: The key is loose at the plastic part because it's cracked but it's been that way for a long time, it's taped for security to keep it from coming apart but yes the steering wheel will turn
JA: Are you hoping to fix this yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: Bought a new battery for the car thought that was it but still doing the same thing.
JA: Anything else you think the mechanic should know?
Customer: Nothing else that I know just know it was running on Wednesday parked it after a 2 hour ride and it will not restart
