Honda Civic: I own an 89 Honda Civic hatch ef with a jdm zc

Customer Question

I own an 89 Honda Civic hatch ef with a jdm zc vtec. Just recently the battery won't charge from the alternator. When jumped it starts up just fine and will stay running for a while. But when I try to drive for over 3 miles(ish) the engine will start sputtering and eventually shut off regardless of how I try to drive it. The spark plugs, dizzy, and alternator all have less than 5k on them and I can't pinpoint the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Ok,when you get to the car there are 3 fuses to double check and be sure there is battery voltage on BOTH ends of all 3 fuses. Key on.If good, with engine running, tell me how many volts are on each wire at the alternator. How many volts is it reading at the battery cable ends on the battery with engine running?I had to split the diagram in half but if you print them out and put 1 at the top you will have the whole charging circuit.click hereclick here get back to me with ALL ofthose volt readings please.
