I own a 2010 CRV-L. The car won't start: battery and oil

Customer Question

I own a 2010 CRV-L. The car won't start: battery and oil lamp icons are lit. Radio and lights come on. I hear a slow click then nothing. My son thinks it's the starter. I did go through a flooded area a few nights ago, but had no problem until today. What can you advise. Thanks

Hi Cathy,

How much water did you drive through?

I've seen many engines that ingest water and then won't start.

Can your son inspect the airbox for high water entry please?

Maybe 18 to 24 inches

Oh Cathy, that's a lot of water depth.

Is your son mechanically minded?

Can he inspect the engine airbox internals for water please?

Hope the engine hasn't "drowned".

Let's hope it is an electrical, and not mechanical issue.

Talk soon.

Thanks for your time Gary. We'll see what the mechanic says tomorrow.
