Good morning I am master tech and will be able to assist you today.
can you tell me if the cruise control light goes off once you set the cruise ?
I see the content and I responded @ 6;43 and your replay was @ 10:24 am
so if you hold the cruise control set button will it work?
ok can you please step on the brake pedal and tell me if the brakes likes are working .
also when you press the cruise main switch the switch lights up.
and when you actual set the cruise does it show the cruise light on the cluster before it goes out ?
we have a well known issue with these brake light switches and will cause the cruise to not be set and work correctly
if you look above the brake pedal the brake light switch is mounted on the bracket and simply switch out and then back in.
I set these so the plunger on the switch is pushed in on the rubber stopper.
see attached image
do you have a scanner that will read body codes ?
want to see if their is any stored codes.
the switch can be changed by hand just unplug the switch and then twist the switch out and reverse instillation
you can drop the lower cover down to make it easier it just pops off and the back section has 2 guide pins you will see once you drop it down
ok the system needs to be scanned to see if their is any codes stored.
something just doesn't add up on the switch part so this is why the system needs to be scanned.
we could be chasing a failing cruise control set switch or something internal in the system
we seen the set switch on the steering wheels fail and holding the set button and not letting it go normally holds and we replace the switch assembly.
unfortunately you will need a shop that has this scanner or the dealer
unless they have a advanced scanner that does body codes.
you will have to call and check with them
