Customer Question

i have a 1996 honda 2.2l station wagon. for over a year there has been loss of antifreeze, say 12oz coke can worth every day. coolant from over flow does not draw back into radiator. there is also occasional smell of antifreeze but repeated searches of entire system show nothing. sometimes if you start engine with radiator cap off water shoots out like a gyser. some have told this is bad head gasket and compression forcing water out. any suggestions GREATLY APPRECIATED. THANKS.***@******.***

Hello, my name is***** on description it sounds like head gasket is leaking. The head gasket will pressurize cooling system if head gasket leak which is why system pressurizes right away. To verify this is the problem you will want to do a cooling system pressure test, most parts stores will barrow out pressure tester for free. If cooling system does not hold pressure but no external leaks you know the head gasket is leaking. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help or if you would like replacement instructions. Thanks.
