Civic: I have the same problem with my license plate lights

Customer Question

I have the same problem with my license plate lights not working on a 2004 Honda Civic that I see you've helped others with I found the technical service bulletin that shows you how to locate and splice the red yellow wire, my Vin number even matches the one in the bulletin but when I expose the wires my red yellow does not have a connection point in that area ! Do you have any other suggestions for something I could try

Do you also have an issue with the tail lights not working on the trunk?
Do you have a volt meter to any testing with?

All of the lights work with the exception of the two on the license plate. So I know the fuses are good and I know the switch is good. So I was surprised that this TSB didn't cover the exact problem...
I do have a voltmeter.
I'll insert the link for the bulletin :

I have seen the bulletin beforehand.
When you opened up the harness did you find 3 red/yellow wires or just one.
If you found the 3 please check for voltage in all three and let me know what you find.

There Is only one side through that area I opened up at least three times the recommended length That's why I was stumped as to what to do next. I will be out of town until Friday, but working in this first thing Saturday morning.

Is it possible you can post a picture of what you found?
I will wait for your reply.

The yellow-red wire runs the whole length of this part of the trunk.
I don't see a way to add a picture to this Site

So with the trunk lid open, from the spot where the wire comes under the trunk lid all the way up to where it goes into the lid through the sheet-metal it's one solid wire
