Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Can't get compressor to kick on
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I changed pressure switch with a new one
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It won't even kick in when jumped with wire
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
Ok, so you have put power directly to the compressor clutch and it still wont engage?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
No Tim all I have done is used jumper wire to try and engage compressor
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
And this was done at pressure switch
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I do have a power probe but would need to know where to start directing power
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
do you know where the a/c compressor clutch relay is?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I do not tim
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
it is in the fuse bix under the hood, it should be labeled a/c clutch relay can you locate this relay"?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok found it
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
What next
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, if you remove the relay, on the bottom of the relay there are numbers stamped into it for each pin, 1,2,3 and 4, do you see these numbers?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, where the relay plugs into, on the socket, you need to jumper termonals 1 and 2 and see if the a/c compressor comes on, can you do this?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I see no 1 and 2
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
What numbers do you see?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It shows a pic on side of relay bottom view 30 87 85 86
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
yes
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Okay compressor kicked in now what
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
It's on but fans not running what should I do now
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, with it jumpered, start the car and turn on the a/c and see if it gets cool?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Okay started but not cool
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
ok, then you are either low on freon, or out of freon, it will need to be evacuated and recharged,Tim
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
But clutch engaged but fans not on
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
the fan wont come on until there is enough freon to bring the high side pressue up,Tim
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Ok I have a set of pro series gauges when fans kick in they go to 40 low and 200 high then when fans stop high side jumps way up
Expert:  Tim Mohr replied 1 year ago.
if the low is 45 and the high is 200, then the air should be cool, until the high side goes way up??
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes air is cool but when fans disengage high side shoots up then before it hits 350 fans will engage again
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
And I still have to leave jumper in
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Here's video
