Honda Accord: 99 accord V-TEC, random CEL, thought was loose

This answer was rated:

'99 accord V-TEC, random CEL, thought was loose gas cap. Driving down freeway light came on, 20 miles later engine did a quick hesitation and lost all power and died. No visible spark at plug, with cap off distributer coil throws spark everywhere, checked fuses, repleced main relay. Still when key turned on, CEL does not light up at anytime, car turns over sounding normal, but will not fire, and other indicator lights are on that shoudn't be.

Erik-the-master :

check that screw that holds distributor rotor to distributor shaft has not backed out. you really need to check the fuel pressure and check for injector pulse if the spark is good. You also need to see if there are any trouble codes store in the ecm.
