Optional Information: Make: Honda Model: accord ex Year: 1993 Already Tried: nothing yet
Ok there are a few different common issues. When was the last transmission service done?
dont know only owned 2 months no contact with previous owner
you can shift fine manualy it just wont step down with accelarator pedel
Ok this is what needs to be done 2 very common issues for this problem.First change the fluid and remove the shift solenoids and clean the screens and reinstall. Then test drive the vehicle .If there is still an issue you will need to replace the transmission computer located under passenger carpet the smaller of the 2 computers. You can get this off ebay of from a salvage yard to save some money. These are the next steps.Hoped this helped.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
Experience: 13 year honda platinum level
Changed fluid added a conditioner cleaned colnoid's replaced TCM. Still don't shift downSorry about delay
You changed the small computer correct with the same numbers as the old one had ?
Yes
Ok then this can be an internal problem in the transmission . Have you made sure the shifter cable is not binding ?
Not yetDoes it have inny djustment
It has an internal adjustment as does the throttle cable so check those to make sure they are not damaged. If they check out ok and the shift solenoids are not shorted out this is an internal issue in the transmission. These are the next steps.Hoped this helped.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
