I have a 2003 Honda Oddysey. The ignition switch was just completely replaced by the dealer. Now the horn does not honk. (the panic alarm does come on, the brake lights work, all electronics good). more bizarre is that the horn does honk in cool weather, only as the day goes on and the car gets really hot, it stops working. Did they do something to the air bag/horn switch/push-mechanism in the steering wheel? Also, can I go on an overnight trip with this car, or is the horn going to act up worse... Is the "pushing on the horn generates no sound in hot weather" as bad as this thing will get? Thanks.
Yes you need to bring it back they either forgot to plug the in a connector or damaged the cable reel(clock spring)The horn is grounded through the cable reel. This is what they damaged and need to fix next for free.Hoped this helped.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
Thank you. Why is it intermittent?
Because it has not failed completely yet and is affected by turning the steering wheel .I would have this checked next.Hoped this helped.Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.
