My mother has a 2010 Insight. It was a demo with 8000 miles when bought. She was told it was just pre-owned but found a "do not sell" sign in the glove box. She says it has always lurched occasionally at stop signs and the dealer said hybrids do that. She just had a minor accident where the car lurched more than before when she was coasting to a stop.- is it normal for a Insight? (my Prius doesn't lurch)- should she have a mechanic look at it? (I vote yes)

Hello let me help you with any of your Honda problems.
I honestly have not heard of many complaints like this so I would suggest that a dealer takes a look at it just to be safe. The Insight and all Honda Hybrids have an auto stop feature that will turn the engine off when coming to a stop to preserve fuel. Sometimes if you are braking and come to a stop and release the brake pedal the engine will turn back on quickly and can cause a lurching feeling.
