Which model Pilot do you have? Navi equipped?
Link Link2 Here are the links to the audio unit and speakers on your Pilot. Sounds like you have damaged the audio unit itself. There is no amplifier between the audio unit and the speakers.
Navi is not equipped.
I can't view the links
Can I have more information about the "Audio Unit" I.E. costs?
Sorry about the links. I do not know how much the audio unit would cost.
No problem, but what exactly is an "audio unit"? If the stereo is still functional, is it more of an internal device?
here and here Try these. The audio unit is the radio itself. It sounds like the internal amplifier for the speakers is bad, but the seperate output for the sub is still good. Hopefully these links will work this time. So basically, part of the radio is bad.
No luck on those links either. So have you typically fixed this through total replacement or finding the part that's bad and replacing it?
At the dealership, we don't take apart the radio. It's against our remanufacturing program. We order a replacement and send the old one back. It is possible to take your unit out and send it out for repair. We do this when customers are out of warranty.
Still no dice: Error 403 message is popping up
Wow. I've got a request into just answer for that. I thought they've fixed it. sorry
I'd set up an account, but I'm not familiar with the site. No problem though.
So it sounds like the best option for me given that I doubt it's under warranty will be to purchase and new radio and get it installed. Correct?
I would check and see how much it would cost to get your unit repaired first. I know that these radios can get pricey.
What would be Plan B?
Plan B, compare the cost of the repair to yours to the cost of a new or remanufactured unit.
My dealer would charge approx. 150 to replace the unit
Cost of parts is where its going to count
150 to swap out for a functional unit?
That would be labor only
Makes sense. What's the typical cost to repair an existing unit, labor only?
We send out the unit for repair to a Honda recomended third party. So, their prices I do not know.
And what's the typical cost for parts on the swap?
I do not know the prices on the parts.
I hope I've helped. Good luck to you and have a great holiday season!!! Please hit the accept button if you felt I've helped you out and Positive feedback is much appreciated!!!
I'm going to leave, but would you mind sending me those links once the dropbox problem is fixed so I can accept the answer?
I will try again. Thank you.
Link1 Link2 Ok try these.
Links came through. I've got the appointment with the dealer set this week so we'll see how expensive this lesson will be then. Thanks for the guidance!
