At about 28,000 miles, my 2008 Honda Civic hybrid gas mileage dropped from 42-44 mpg. to 35-37 mpg. At the same time, I noticed that the battery "charge/assist" indicator began to cycle more frequently and rapidly than previously, and spent more time charging the battery (but the regenerative/braking charging would not work until the charge indicator had at least four bars on it.Is it possible that my battery has a weak or defective cell after only 3 years/30,000 miles?

Welcome to Justanswer, My name is XXXXX X am here to help.Sounds to me like that battery is bad and thats why they are having such a hard time charging it. I know its low miles but that is the problem and you will need to get it fixed by replacement. Danny
