No problems before jumping the battery ? Was it jumped backwards?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Jumped using jump leads.

No problems running up to the flat battery - although it went flat from playing the radio for a few minutes with no engine running

What's the reading of the battery low voltage or loose battery terminal will cause this . A new fully charged battery is needed first.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
ok will have to buy a new one then. would going for a drive charge up the old one sufficiently it's starting the car up with no problems everytime
Not if the cells are bad . If it reads 13.5 plus volts it should be fine.
