2004 Honda Accord LX: the key the dash lights come..lights wont

Resolved Question:

I have a 2004 Honda Accord LX with a 2.4 engine. When I turn the key the dash lights come on, but the engine won't start. When I try again, the dash lights won't even come on. I replaced the battery with a new one (even though the old battery was only a couple of years old), but it didn't help.

Most common is a faulty ignition switch . Is this an automatic or manual transmission ?

Will it start in any other gear ? Is there an aftermarket alarm added?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
It will not start in any other gear, and no dash lights work.

Also, there is no aftermarket alarm on this car

Ok most common is of there is power and ground to the starter the starter is bad. If there is no power its a faulty starter relay or ignition switch. These need to be checked next . Hoped this helped. Positive feedback and bonuses greatly appreciated.

It turned out to be the connection from the battery ground to the car chassis. I cleaned both surfaces with sandpaper, and it works fine now.
Thanks
