Most of the time just the tumblers stick insert the key in the igniton and tap the head of the key a few times it should release the tumblers and now turn let me know how it goes.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.

Ok the tumblers are stuck in the ignition. Try spraying some wd40 and taping the key some more should free up. Also push the shifter past park if you could . Let me know how it goes.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Ok, I'm going to run across the street to get some WD40...

So, this isn't the immobilizer malfunctioning? In other words, if the immobilizer was engaged the key would turn but the engine wouldn't start?

When you say, push the shifter past park, do you mean up? or down towards neutral?

I'll let you know how the wd40 goes.

Up . The immobilizer only controls the fuel injectors and allows fuel to start the vehicle . It does not lock the ignition switch up the tumblers are stuck they usually free up if not sometimes the switch needs to be replaced.
