1995 Honda Del Sol SRS light is on. Replaced SRS unit (acquired online) and light went out for a few days. What gives? I notice quite a few folks are having the same problem. Does anyone know exactly what is causing so many of these SRS units to malfunction?What are the options--other than paying the dealer $1000?

Ok where did you buy it from?
It was some time ago--last year-- and I don't recall the web site I visited.
OK unfortunately these units were poorley designed and were failing left and right.You can get a salvage one which you do not know the condition of for about 75 dollars or even ebay.Best way to go is new about 500 from the dealer and no one wants to spend that much.If you get it from the dealer its easily installed yourself .This is the price and part number right from the dealer.Either you can go this route or ebay.
Is a new unit from the dealer any better than the ones the car came with back in 1995?
Yes these are completely updated units.There are no issues with the new units.
