2003 honda accord: transmission problems..well maintained ..it

This answer was rated:

how likely is it that the 2003 honda accord i want to buy will have transmission problems...i know it has been well maintained..it has 89000 miles on it

Hello, I can advise you on this. There was a recall on this transmission.

It was to modify the oiling on 2nd gear, I would like to check if it was completed first.

Do you have the VIN available so I can check?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.

i don't have the vin yet ...i'm trying to get it....but the owner said it wasn't done

Ok, is this a 6 cylinder? I should have asked before. The recall is only on those.

If its is a 4 cylinder they are fairly bulletproof,

Customer: replied 7 years ago.

i'm finding ou later today...if it is 4 and has 89000 you think it's ok

Yes the 4 cylinder model has a better transmission history.

We really don't see them fail often on well maintained cars.
