No, the alternator belt is the back one and the others have to be removed to access it. Does your Civic have a/c and power steering? I can send a couple illustrations to help you.

yes has both AC and PS. diagrams would be great

Ok, the driver side axle needs to be removed to get the alternator out, so I included the instructions for this. Sometimes you can wiggle it out through the top, but its easier to just remove the axle.

Can this be done without pulling the axle?

Also there is no through bolt on the bottom of the alternator. Looks like some type of pin.

Isn't there a nut on the driver side?

Not that I can see

It should have one. The other end of the bolt is just a square head. There should be a 14mm nut on the same side as the alternator pulley. Honda had the same design on the lower alternator bolt from 84-2000.

The bolt is missing. I was able to wiggle the alternator out of the bracket.
