  1. Open the trunk lid and disconnect the 2P connectors from the high mount brake light.
  2. Carefully remove the rear shelf and high mount brake light.
  3. Install the light in the reverse order of removal.

Sorry about that, didnt even notice that in your "Already Tried..."

 

To aid in the removal, it is recommended that you use a "trim Panel Tool". Most of the times a flat-bladed tool should do the same.

 

  • Remove the trim as shown. To remove the rear shelf, remove the rear seat side bolster from each side and lock cylinder trim.

  • To remove the door sill trim and B-pillar upper trim, remove the side trim panel as necessary.
