1999 honda accord: the transmission shift solenoid..automatic..tranny

hi im trying to out where the transmission shift solenoid is located...for a 1999 honda accord v6 automatic... some people say its inside the tranny, and other says it outside.... it was scanned and said unsuficient flow transmission shift solenoid.. im thinking the outside of the tranny probaly the screen is clogged???????? im guessing.. please help.....thanx

Hi,welcome to Just Answer. the solenoids are external thats the good news. The bad news is changing them isn't going to fix the problem.The reason the screens are plugged is the clutches inside the trans have come apart and the debris is plugging the screens. unfortunately this happens quite a bit on this trans and the only to fix them is to overhaul the transmission. I'm sorry to report the bad news but this what I have seen many times.
