Resolved Question:

I have a 2000 civic with a power steering leak. Independent shop is quoting $900 (!) to fix by replacing the unit, realignment, fluid flush, etc. Any options here? Can this be resealed? Is dealership better to handle.   Thanks for your help

if they are replacing the rack and pinion that does not sound overly expensive most rack and pinions or power steering pumps are not resealable. i would call the dealership because sometimes there price can be cheaper than the independant shops does not hurt to ask. there are many capable independant shops out there

Reply to diagman's Post: Should getting a estimate over the phone be a difficult task? Sounds like pretty straight forward with a part in and out. Any additional questions or information I should ask?
