I AM GETTING A ODB II TROUBLE CODE P2000 ON MY 2004 HONDA CIVIC HYBRID. I CANNOT FIND ANY INFORMATION ON WHAT THE CODE REPRESENTS
Hi,
DTC P2000 -NOx adsorptive catalyst efficiency below threshold
Possible causes-
Most common problem is failure of converter and O2 sensor
Have converter on O2 sensor checked- both are covered under a 8yr/80,000 mile federal emissions warranty.
This is a Paysite
Have a peaceful holiday season!!!
Reply to eric's Post: THE ODBII SAY THE FOLLOWING NOx TRAP EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHHOLD (BANK1)
Essentially what is happening is the 3way converter is not converting NOx into less harmefull emissions, this can be due to either the converter itself failing or the O2 sensor not giving proper reading. Both need to be tested- the 3way converter with an exhaust gas analyzer and the O2 sensor with a level 2 diagnostic scanner. If the exhaust gas analyzer is showing too high NOx readings, then the converter is bad and needs to be replaced.
