While driving in the mountains today my 2003 Honda Civic started making a loud clicking noise as it down shifted to gain power to go uphill. If it wasn't in a high rpm the noise wasn't there. The oil light flashed briefly. I added oil which seemed to resolve the problem while heading down hill for awhile but then driving up another fairly steep hill it wouldn't get much power and the clicking became much louder. I pulled over and had it towed home. Any ideas on what it might be?
Definately loosing oil or no oil pressure cauing this
Do you feel like the symptoms indicate a blown engine from the loss of oil or oil pressure?
Yes its very possible they will need to do a compression check to make sure ,but it dosent sound to good, sorry for the bad news
