I know that Saturday in Italian is sabato. But my question

This answer was rated:

I know that Saturday in Italian is sabato. But my question is that if both the first a and the second a are pronounced as a short vowel a sound in English and if the o is pronounced as a long vowel o sound in English? In other words, Saturday in Spanish is sabado. Is the Italian word sabato pronounced the same exact way as the Spanish word sabado where the only difference is to pronounce it with a t sound instead of a d sound? Thanks.
