Kathy, please respond the the following classmates post. Short response due Mon. You state that we should not subject students to courses that have little or nothing to do with their futures. I would whole-heartedly agree. However, do you think that essentialists build curricula to include unnecessary content? Isn't the basic curriculum designed to establish a foundation of knowledge for basic survival in life? How can you justify that basic math skills, basic knowledge of science, and an historical perspective, for example, do not benefit people at a foundational level?
