(1) is OK, but need a different explanation for (2)
on values are dependent upon the frequency of light.v=c/n, for blue light n is larger and hence the speed of the blue light is smaller.It is this difference in n value for the varying wavelengths that causes the dispersion of light by a triangular prizm.Violet light, being slowed down to a greater extent by the absorption and reemission process, hence it refracts more than red light.
