please explain why

(1) recall the formula dsin(theta) =n*lambda

hence the larger labmbda corresponds to the larger diffraction angle

since red light has larger wavelength the diffraction angle is greater

(2) blue light propagates slower in the media, hence it bends more than the red light.

(1) is OK, but need a different explanation for (2)

on values are dependent upon the frequency of light.v=c/n,
for blue light n is larger and hence the speed of the blue light is smaller.
It is this difference in n value for the varying wavelengths
that causes the dispersion of light by a triangular prizm.
Violet light, being slowed down to a greater extent by the
absorption and reemission process, hence it refracts more than red light.
