1. Describe the ways managers use boundary-spanning roles and why they use them.
Boundaries define the characteristic of organizations. In fact boundary roles are the link between environment and organization. The boundary roles can be created, elaborated and examined with attention to environment of the organization. The detection of information is known as Boundary Spanning. Boundary Spanning has to roles which includes detection of information and bring notice to the organization. Thereafter the detected information can be linked with the organization in a favorable way. For example Genesco Inc hires the same age people of the same in order assess the target market so that first hand intelligence consumer desire about fashion can be identified.
Boundary spanners also known as “boundary role persons” or can be termed as BRP. Such BRP is responsible to contact the people who are outside from his own group. In other words, Boundary-Spanning is differentiated function and did not require previous research. Boundary-Spanners play vital role especially in inter group relations. The boundary spanners interact with the members of different groups. Each group will play boundary spanner’s role. As the Boundary-Spanning gives intelligent information, managers of the organization show interest to implement Boundary-Spanning strategy.

The organizational culture is a behavior and values of the organization with the outsiders. The organizational culture can be identified with the organizational studies and management through experiences, beliefs, values of the personnel within the organization. In fact, the organizational culture is specific collection of values and norms those are shared by people and groups in the organization and interaction with stakeholders of outside organization.
Organizational culture and corporate culture used interchangeably. The organization culture is vision of the organizations which is composed with values, traditions, and customs with specific objects for which company visible as unique organization. The organizational climate is developed with the interaction elements like People, Rewards, Structure, Information, Decisions and processes. The concept of organizational culture came into the series British and American Management texts of 1980s.
It can be said that the organizational culture is a powerful motivating force since it consists sanctioned values employed by the organization. The culture also helps the members of the organization so that they will extend themselves with systematic completion tasks according to the goals fixed by the organization. In other orders, the members and other persons of the organization will have a perfect idea why they have been connected with the organization. The organizational culture allows fixing a frame work for which the organization can acknowledge internal problems and resolutions to meet the external challenges.
