One of the most common problems in Organizations is communication.

Lines of communication need to be established.
through seminars, flyers, group sessions, Blogging, E-mail, whatever.

The Overall Culture of an Organization also leads to many issues.

On August 26, a Reuters news service headline read “NASA’s Culture Targeted in Shuttle Columbia Report.” Shortly afterward, organizational culture made the front page of papers across the nation. The report concluded that “NASA’s management and culture have led to slipping safety standards that doomed Columbia’s crew.” A former astronaut warned that NASA “must change its culture to avoid another shuttle disaster.” The culture was described as cavalier, lacking concern, and plagued by communication problems between engineers, middle managers, and top officials. NASA managers missed eight opportunities during Columbia’s mission to address concerns about the falling foam that proved to be the cause of the disaster. Culture matters.

A study of 207 companies in 20 years over an 11 year period showed that those with the strongest cultures outperformed the weakest, with 571% higher gains in operating earnings, 417% higher ROI, and 363% greater increase in stock price.1 Research has shown that a primary cause for the 75% failure rate of M&A’s is incompatible cultures. The courts have even ruled that cultural compatibility is a relevant factor in due diligence.
