I go to sleep very easily at night as I am usually very tired. However, I wake at about 3pm and am then awake suffering anxiety, which prevents me from going back to sleep. Therefore when its time to get up at around 6am I am very tired and low, which impacts on my day. I am 60 years old, working hard but need to sleep better and rid myself of night time anxiety. I have tried Bach flower remedies when I wake in the night, but to no avail.Thank you very much for your time.

OKI have dealt with this situation many times.And of course you need to be working with a holistic practitioner who is well trained.For example.You do have to make sure you don't have sleep apnea, or a heart rhythm problem...both can actlike this.As far as natrual treatments for anxiety.I use tyrptophan before bed, starting at 500 mg, and working up to as much as 3 grams as if needed. This not only induces sleep put as an amino acid precursor increases seritonin and helps relieve anxiety.I also often add taurine up to 5 grams in the same increments in the morning,And magnesium in almost all cases, as it is usually relatively deficient in this situation.There are other interventions as well, but I suggest that besides self help you work with a knowledgable practitioner.
