I bought a Vizio Sound Bar Model 2B29299-D6 yesterday to hook into my HD Sony 23 in TV. I have a cable box through time Warner. I have no sound from the sound bar. Is there something I need to do to integrate with the Cable box?. I used the digital optical cable from the TV to the Sound Bar, but nothing. Then I connected the Optical Cable from the Sound bar to the Cable box digital optical connection. Nothing. Now what? Thanks.!!
JA: Just to clarify, what's the exact model of your Sony? And can you guesstimate how old it is?
Customer: It is 2-3 years old, but I do not have the Sony model here at the office.
JA: Does the TV menu work? Do you have the same problem on all sources/inputs?
Customer: Yes, the menu works, but nothing from any sources.
JA: How long has this been an issue? What happened right before this popped up?
Customer: I just bought the Vizio last night. I has never produced any sound

You have followed the guide exactly with the soundbar?

It really should work via optical do you see the optical socket\ lead led lit?

I followed it exactly and then had a technical friend try it as well. No sound. All optical lights were lit . What about the cable box?

I am not interested in paying more for this conversation. I use the optical cable supplied in the Vizio box.

Do you have ordinary sound via the TV\CABLE BOX?

Then you used optical out from the TV so that rules out the box

So you have the box AND the TV not working via optical, anyhow I would sugget that you re-boot everything first unplug everything from wallpower wait 5 mins then replug back in again let meknow if there is any change
