JA: What's the make and model of your tv, and can you guesstimate how old it is?

JA: What happened right before this popped up? What troubleshooting have you tried?

The lifestyle is indeed an old model and does not support 4k content.

Your best option here is to connect everything directly to the tv via hdmi cables (bluray palyer, satellite box, etc), then run a separate Optical cable (http://amzn.to/2e2pwjl ) to the bose.
Set the bose to the optical input mode, and you'll get audio through it that way.
