The Bose Solo 15 series II can be connected to the TV using:

  • red & white RCA-to-RCA cable;
  • a single optical TOSLink audio cable; or
  • a single RCA-to-RCA Coaxial Audio cable.

Based on the above, the easiest approach would be connecting the TV's earphone jack to the Bose's Analog R & L RCA jacks using the 3.5mm-to-2 X RCA plugs.

To my understanding, the ProScan PLEDV2488A has an earphone jack at the rear.

Also the "...3.5 audio cable..." would have to be something like the product shown HERE where the other end would be a pair of red & white RCA plugs.

Not into the Bose's 3.5mm. It is not an audio input jack.

Using 3.5mm-to-2 X RCA plugs, connect the TV's earphone jack located at its back side to the Bose's Analog R & L (red & white pair) RCA jacks.
