If you connect the Left speaker to the Right terminals and the Right speaker to the Left terminals, does the same speaker not work, or the other one?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
hooed it and the speakers works hooked the other one up and it does not work
Expert:  Steve G. replied 2 months ago.

Ok. So is it the same speaker that doesn't work regardless of which terminals it is connected to?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
no i took the one that did not work and switched it and it works and the one that did work does not know
Expert:  Steve G. replied 2 months ago.

Ok, the SX565 has two sets of speaker terminals: A and B, so you can hook up 4 speakers.

Can you try the B terminals please and let me know. You will need to press the B button on the front.

Let me know.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Stevetried it the b terminal does the same thing

Ok, then you have lost a channel - most likely a power transistor has failed due to age maybe.

If you can find a mom and pop repair shop, it should be a reasonably easy fix. since it is older technology.

What is your zipcode?

I see no place near you that I could recommend.

I did find a place in MN that repairs vintage receivers and they are also authorized for Pioneer. Obviously you would need to send it to them.

  • Alex Audio Video and Computer Service.
  • TV, Audio, Vintage Stereo Repair MN USA
  • 4211 Rhode Island Ave North
    New Hope, MN 55428

  • ***-***-****
  • *****@******.***

May I ask how much you paid for the receiver and how long you have owned it?

Purchased in 83 tof 85 new for about $450 came with 2 speakers and tape player

Ok. It's a nice vintage unit that is worth keeping. I would call that place and ask what they would think the repair cost would be.
