Hi , I`m JackPerhaps I can help you with this problem .
Yes you are correct , it uses RCA /PHONO type of plugs .
Did you try it yet ?
O.k then i don`t know how you operated the zone 2 so far on the piioneer but it acts as another amp built-in except that it cannot play all sources .
Did you power on zone 2 and select say the radio to see if someething goes through ?
Or you just plugged it and turned up the main volume ?
press the Z2 button on the remote then power and select an input like the tuner .
The manual for this receiver says very little about the zone control and what it will play but usually the HDMI signals connected to it will not output to zones
Only the analog stereo sources
did you turn up the volume indoor and out as well ?
o.k be careful here if it does come on all of sudden and your outdoor amp volume is too high it may damage the speakers.
Can yu give me a few on that ?
That's the one yes , its correct .
Just as a test , try to connect those rca cable to the subwoofer out (main zone ) and play some thing to see if the bass will come out those outdoor speakers .
Turn off the volume on the outdoor amp first
Right now I cant see anything you did not do correctly for the sound to come out zone 2
Give me a few minutes again , I may have something
On the remote press and hold the Z2 button until the light blinks , this will set it to zone 2 control then try that again
Also , you can do the same with the HDZONE button to have access to hdmi sound out of the pre outs at the back
sorry , never mind the HDZONE , another beast
Press and hold that Z2 button until that blinks and see if you have control now ?
I meant sound
Got anything there ?
O.k then give that a try , according to pioneer you need to do that to enable control over zone 2
Let me know
