I have connected a new rx v379 AVR to direct tv genie and an older LG plasma Flatscreen. I have connected through HDMI. I have checked settings many times over but only get audio no video. I am wondering if HDCP has something to do with this problem. If so are there any solutions ?

Hello, my name is Rusty. That can be the HDCP, especially on older TVs. The other thing that can cause it is 1080p from your Genie with a 720p TV. The way around both is to connect the Genie with a component cable (red/green/blue red/white). Not only will this be invisible to the HDCP, it will also automatically switch your resolution to 720p.
