Thanks and you said that you had this CD-DH950P for approx. 1 year now ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I did.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k and would that be over or under a year ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
over a year
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k and what kind of cd are you playing , are they home made or store bought ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
store bought.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
That's strange why it wont work. its brank new unit.
Expert:  Jack replied 1 year ago.

O.k then it looks like the cd player went defective and right now I simply cannot find anything on this unit , could be too recent yet too old for the warranty .

I will opt out and repost your question , perhaps some other tech. in here has something on this .

You don`t have to do anything , your question will be reposted for other techs. to see and jump in.

Hi and welcome to JustAnswer,

Thank you for the question and your patience. Should you still need assistance for information purposes only...

Initially and if the laser lens cleaning was not corrective, then the described symptom almost always point to an internal hardware issue or more particularly, possible suspects after a review of the Service Manual are:

  • • low or missing DC voltage(s) to the CD mech (least likely);
  • • traverse and/or spindle motor issue (likely);
  • • weak or failed laser / optical pickup (most likely).

If comfortably able and feel safe to do so, are you then considering a DIY (do-it-yourself) repair approach? If yes, do you have access to and familiar with a multi-meter and even perhaps a soldering iron?

Equally important, could you make use of the repair/Service Manual or at the very least, the schematic diagrams?
