Customer Question

What are the differences between the hts8409 and the hts9400 do they share the same receivers ?, do the speakers have the same size and power. Could I use 2 subs with any of them. Is there any problem with the receivers. Thank you.

LOAJ3256 :

Hello - maybe I can help. The hts9400 has a higher output (wattage) than does the hts8409 by 25 watts or so, depending on the room and volume levels, thid may not be an issue, The hts9400 unit will support 2 subs (rear SSR sub) The sub hits 20hz @ -6db. For an HTiB you won't find one to match it. Sound is pretty tight , all speakers and sub are sealed.
I would advise you to look " closer " at the hts9400, all things considered per above.

Please let me know if I can be of further help. Thank You for your time.

Customer : I wanted to know if there any issues with the receiver. Thanks for your help
LOAJ3256 :

Onkyo's are top of the line for HTS systems in general. It also depends on "how" you set up the system with the LG 55. Using HDMI cables and optical are preferred, and there could be some setting / set up trial and error, but this is NOT exclusve to the 8409 or the 9400. So, as with all electronics, there may be a learning curve for sure, but as far as outstanding issues, no more or less than systems of this caliber. If there is a one thing to mention, and again not exclusive to Onkyo, is to verify that the speakers you select / have are rated no LESS than 6 ohms as the unit will self "protect" internal circutry, and shut down if speakers do not match specifications as stated You will enjoy the Onkyo , please advise and thank you for your time again
