I picked up teh subwoofer and speakers for the CS700 system at a garage sale. They did not come with cables or the Control station/DVD player. Is there a way to wire the speakers? Is there any documentation available? I'd hate to see these go to waste. I don't know if I can purchase compatible cables or refurbished components through Klipsch since this line was discontinued? Thanks,Sean
Hello Sean. My name is XXXX, XXX I can assist you. I'm afraid you can't use this sub in the conventional way that it was intended to work. This is a wireless system, hence you would need the transmitter located in the main unit. You can use the speaker, with another amplifier, but you would have to modify this sub, which I can explain how.
Please let me know how you wish to go.
Thank you. I may be on and off the site, until it's dark out, but will return to answer your question this evening. Will that be OK with you?
Dave
Hello. No you can only use an external amp, or the amps that are already in these speakers, but no both. If we go with the assumption that you are going to use an external amp, you would need to disassemble these units, as the only part that we will use will be the drivers and the crossover network. The problem we may run into is getting a schematic for this, so I can tell you exactly where we want to tap into, to use the speakers and cross over directly, without the amp. When you pull the amps out, if you can get me a close up picture of the wiring and such, I may be able to tell from that. You can place the pictures on Photo Bucket, or any picture website, then send me a link to it.
Thanks Dave,
I have to pull the units apart to get the pictures you need. It may take some time since it's not obvious how they are secured to the wall of the cabinet.
